Written in plain English — because you shouldn't need a law degree to understand the rules of a student marketplace.
By signing up or using Bixcart, you're agreeing to follow these rules. If you don't agree — that's okay, but you won't be able to use the platform.
Bixcart is built exclusively for students of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU). When you register with your @student.acu.edu.ng email, you're confirming you're an active student and that you'll play by the rules.
Why so strict about ACU?
Bixcart works because it's a trusted community. Keeping it to ACU students means you're trading with people you might sit next to in class. That trust is the whole point.
To create an account, you need to:
A few more things: you can only have one account. Accounts are yours alone — non-transferable, non-shareable. You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for anything that happens under your account.
Non-ACU users
Accessing Bixcart from outside the ACU student community violates these terms and MAY result in a permanent ban. We verify your your .edu email — please don't try to get around it.
Bixcart uses AI-powered moderation that scans messages and listings in real time. Violations lead to content removal, warnings, or bans depending on severity.
Why this rule exists
If a deal goes sideways on WhatsApp or Telegram, we can't help you. Keeping things on Bixcart means we can step in if something sketchy happens.

Why this rule exists
This violates ACU's honor code and puts everyone's academic future at risk. Bixcart will not be a tool for cheating, full stop.
Bixcart runs a two-layer AI system to keep the platform safe. Here's how it works:
Scans every message and listing instantly. Catches about 90% of violations in real time.
For ambiguous cases, a language model takes a closer look and handles edge cases keywords can't judge.
Every 26 hours, AI re-scans all active listings and recent messages to catch anything that slipped through.
Think we got it wrong?
AI isn't perfect. If you believe your content was incorrectly flagged, email moderation@bixcart.com with the listing or message ID and a brief explanation. A human will review it within 48 hours.
To be clear — Bixcart is a lively, normal student marketplace. Plenty of things that might seem borderline are completely fine:
Negotiating prices — haggling is part of the culture. Go for it.
Campus meetups — arranging exchanges at the library, cafeteria, or lecture halls.
Asking about condition — requesting more photos or details before buying.
Sharing bank details for payment — as long as the conversation stays on Bixcart.
Casual student talk — Nigerian slang, banter, and normal chat is all welcome.
Safety tip for meetups
Always swap items in a public campus spot — the library, cafeteria, or Student Affairs building are all great. Bringing a friend along never hurts either.
By using Bixcart, you're agreeing to be a good community member. That means:
We don't want to suspend anyone — but we will if we have to. Here's how the tiers work:
Academic fraud, listing weapons or drugs, sexual content, or harassment. No warnings — these go straight to permanent removal.
Three violations within 6 months, or any single severe violation (drugs, academic fraud, prohibited items).
Two or more AI-flagged messages or listings within a 90-day window.
First-time minor violations, repeated low-quality listings, or light spam.
Want to appeal?
Email appeals@bixcart.com with your case. If approved, your account will be restored within 7 days.
